Duclos Buys at Wrenshall.  O. Duclos Buys a Large Brick Yard on the N. P. R. R. Near Duluth.  O. Duclos, who has operated a brick yard near Little Falls for many years, has purchased another yard at Wrenshall, on the Northern Pacific, between Carlton and Duluth – about twenty miles from the latter excellent market.  Mr. Duclos was at Wrenshall last week, and took control of the property, and it is now in charge of his son, Avilo Duclos.  The yard was purchased from J. F. Jagger, who had operated it several years, but desired to return to St. Paul and attend to other business interests.  The yard includes an excellent and extensive clay bed, 245 acres of land, buildings, sheds, engine, machinery, stock, and is already at work on the season’s run.  It is expected to burn between 4,000,000 and 5,000,000 brick this year, and there is an excellent demand at the head of the lakes for the entire output.  The property cost about $15,000, and the new owner is confident that business will be a paying one at that point.  Mr. Duclos will continue operating his yard at Little Falls, and expects to make about 4,000,000 brick here.  He finds an unusually good demand here this spring, at prices that are very satisfactory.  (Little Falls Daily Transcript, Tuesday, May 13, 1902, unknown page)

O. Duclos Sells Yards.  Brick Maker for Fifty Years Sells His Wrenshall Brickyard Monday Afternoon.  The Duclos brickyard at Wrenshall was sold Monday afternoon to Mr. Duclos’ son-in-law, Bert Hart, and his father, John P. Hart, of PineIsland.  Messrs. Hart were in the city to complete the deal and left Monday afternoon for their home.  Mr. Duclos disposed of his local yard some time ago to his son Oscar, who is now running the plant.  During last season he took active charge of the operations at the Wrenshall yard, which he has owned for eight years, and has completed fifty years in the brickmaking business.  Because of advanced years and failing health Mr. Duclos decided to dispose of the Wrenshall yard as well as the local one.  The deal closed Monday was for the sale of 53 ½ acres of land, all buildings and machinery on the place.  Both of the new owners are men well acquainted with the brick business and Mr. Hart, Jr., managed the Wrenshall yard two years ago for Mr. Duclos.  They take possession of their new property next week.  (Little Falls Daily Transcript, Tuesday, March 29, 1910, unknown page)
