The 1885 Minnesota census showed Ernst Aufderheide (age 33, born in Germany) married to Fredericke (age 23, born in Germany) and living in New Ulm, Minnesota. A son, Fridrich (age 1, born in Minnesota), also lived with the couple.

The 1895 Minnesota census showed Ernst Aufderheide (age 43, born in Germany, brickyard foreman) married to Friedericha (age 35, born in Germany) and living in Morton, Minnesota. Children Friederich (age 11, born in Minnesota), Gustave (age 9, born in Minnesota), Carolina (age 7, born in Minnesota), Bertha (age 5, born in Minnesota), Herbert (age 3, born in Minnesota), and Henry (age 2 months, born in Minnesota) also lived with the couple.

Mrs. Ernst Aufderheide of Morton died at the home of Mrs. Ruemke in this city last Thursday after an illness of three weeks. The deceased was only thirty-seven years old and was well-known in this vicinity, where she lived for many years prior to moving to Morton. Children Fred (age 16, born in December 1883 in Minnesota) and Gustav (age 14, born in August 1885 in Minnesota) also lived with Ernst.

The 1905 Minnesota census showed Earnest Aufderheide (age 53, born in Germany, mechanical laborer) living in Honner Township, Redwood County, Minnesota. Children Gust (age 21, born in Minnesota), Carline (age 19, born in Minnesota) and Fred H. (age 17, born in Minnesota) also lived with Ernst.

The 1910 United States census showed Ernest F. Aufderheide (age 58, born in Germany, farmer) living in Willow Lake Township, Redwood County, Minnesota. Children Gustaf W. (age 24, born in Minnesota, laborer) and Lena E. (age 22, born in Minnesota, servant) also lived with Ernst.

The 1920 United States census showed Ernest Aufderheide (age 68, born in Germany) living in Lamberton Township, Redwood County, Minnesota. Ernest lived with his son Gus (age 34, born in Minnesota, farmer), his son’s wife Ella (age 37, born in Minnesota), and their daughters Isabel (age 2, born in Minnesota) and Isalina (age 1, born in Minnesota).

The 1930 United States census showed Ernest Aufderheide (age 78, born in Germany) living in Lamberton Township, Redwood County, Minnesota. Ernest lived with his son Wm. A. (age 45, born in Minnesota) and his children Isabel (age 13, born in Minnesota), Wilma (age 11, born in Minnesota), Jean (age 9, born in Minnesota), Ernest (age 7, born in Minnesota), and John (age 5, born in Minnesota).

Ernst Aufderheide died August 23, 1940, in Sibley County, Minnesota.
