Frank Biesanz, brickyard owner, dies at 96. Frank D. Biesanz, 96, Sauer Memorial Home, formerly of Gilmore Valley, died at the home at 11 p.m. Wednesday. He was the retired owner-operator of the former Biesanz Brickyards here. The son of Philip and Cynthia Salisbury Biesanz, he was born May 10, 1876. He never married. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the oldest honorary life member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Winona. Survivors are nephews and nieces. Four brothers and three sisters have died. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Burke’s Funeral Home, Winona, and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, the Rev. Joseph Mountain officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 9 p.m., where Father Mountain will lead a wake service at 8 and the Elk’s Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 8:30.
