Henry Kruse is a native of Ohio, born in 1836. Until twenty years of age he lived on the farm with his parents; afterward spent two years in brick making. Came to Le Sueur in 1861 and after engaging two years in farming he began the manufacture of brick, which he still continues. Married in 1856, Miss Elizabeth Redwill. The 1900 United States census showed Henry Kruse (age 63, born in Ohio in July 1836, farmer) married to Elizabeth (age 61, born in March 1839 in Ohio) and living in Rogers, Esculapia Township, Arkansas. Daughters Ida S. (age 24, born in July 1875 in Minnesota) and Jessie (age 20, born in September 1879 in Minnesota) also lived with the couple.
