The 1880 United States census showed Martin Meihoffer (age 48, born in Prussia, brick maker) married to Gustina (age 41, born in Prussia) and living in Mankato, Minnesota. Children William (age 17, born in Minnesota, works in brickyard), Albert (age 14, born in Minnesota, works in brickyard), Emma (age 11, born in Minnesota), Adolph (age 7, born in Minnesota), Ellen (age 4, born in Minnesota), and Henry (age 5 months, born in Minnesota) also lived with the couple.

Martin Meihofer, born in 1832, is a native of Prussia. In 1859 he came to Mankato; worked at farming one year and two years in a brewery; then manufactured brick one year at La Crosse, Wisconsin and has since been engaged in that business in this city (Mankato); in 1880 he erected a fine building at the corner of Front and Elm streets, where he now has a saloon. He married in 1858, Christine Drabar. Arnstene, William F., Albert, Emma, Adolph, Ida and Henry are their children. The 1885 Minnesota census showed M. Meihoffar (age 53, born in Germany) married to Christina (age 46, born in Germany) and living in Mankato, Minnesota. Children William (age 22, born in Minnesota), Albert (age 20, born in Minnesota), Emma (age 16, born in Minnesota), Adolf (age 12, born in Minnesota), Ida (age 8, born in Minnesota), and Henry (age 5, born in Minnesota) also lived with the couple.

The 1900 United States census showed Martin Meihofer (age 69, born in Germany in April 1830) married to Christina (age 61, born in Germany in December 1838) and living in Mankato, Minnesota. A son, Henry (age 21, born in January 1879 in Minnesota) also lived with the couple.

The 1910 United States census showed Martin Meihofer (age 78, born in Germany, laborer odd jobs) living in Mankato, Minnesota.

Martin Meihofer died November 27, 1914, in Nicollet County, Minnesota.
