The County Commissioners of Dakota county have resolved to build a Court House and Jail, and have employed A. M. Radcliffe, of St. Paul, as Architect. The erection of those buildings is conditioned upon authority from the Legislature to issue bonds, and the approval of the same by the people at the Spring election of 1869. The Hastings Gazette of the 26th inst. contains an illustration of the new Dakota county court house, which is truly of imposing and tasteful architecture. It, with the sheriff’s residence, has cost about $90,000. (Minneapolis Daily Tribune, Sunday, August 27, 1871, Page 2)
