Holyland’s New Brick Yard. Having found upon Winona Prairie, a bed of excellent Brick Clay, the undersigned has made extensive arrangements to supply all demands during the coming season, and has opened a Yard, with all the late improved machinery for Brick Making. Having had long experience in the business, he feels warranted in assuring the public that he will offer for their acceptance the choicest Brick ever made in Minnesota, and at prices much below the usual rates. Contracts will be made for any quantity of Brick at the following reduced rates: At the Yard, $6.00. Delivered, $7.00. The Brick manufactured by me I will warrant to be unsurpassed in quality by any of Minnesota manufacture, and I respectfully invite the attention of my townsmen, and all Builders, to the article. C. Holyland’s New Brick Yard is destined to be a prominent feature of Winona’s manufactures this year. Mr. H. informs us that he is about to stock the prairie with a most beautiful and serviceable article for buildings, and we know he will do it. (The Winona Argus, Thursday, March 12, 1857, Page 2)

Mortgage Sale. – Default having been made in the payment of the sum of five hundred and eight dollars and eighty-three cents, ($508.83) which is claimed to be due at the date of this notice, for principal and interest upon a certain mortgage executed and delivered by Chas. J. Holyland and Harriet Holyland, of Winona, Minnesota, to Henry M. Day of the same place, hearing date the first day of December, A. D. 1856, which mortgage was afterwards, on the 10th day of December, A. D. 1856, at 3 o’clock p. m., duly recorded as a mortgage in the office of the Register of Deeds of Winona county in Book "B" of Mortgages, on Pages 350-352, and was on the 10th day of March, A. D. 1857, duly assigned by said Henry M. day to Henry K. Buel, Henry L. Hill, and Gilbert L. Granger, of Chicago, Illinois, which assignment was duly recorded in said Register’s office on the 10th day of March, A. D. 1857, at 11 o’clock a.m., in Book "C" of Mortgages, on page 63, and whereas, the said mortgage and the debt secured thereby is now the property of the said Henry K. Buel, Henry L. Hill, and Gilbert L. Granger, and no action or other proceeding at law has been instituted to recover the said debt or any part thereof: Now therefore, Notice is hereby given that by virtue of a power of sale in said mortgage contained, and pursuant to the statute in such case made and provided, the premises described in said mortgage to wit: "Four acres of land out of the south west quarter of section Twenty one, Town one hundred and seven, range seven, in the Winona Land District, to be thirty rods from south to North, and twenty one and one third rods from east to west measuring from the Government quarter section stake," in the county of Winona and State of Minnesota, together with the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging will be sold at public auction to the highest bidder, for cash, at the front door of the Court House in the City of Winona in said county and State, on Saturday the 19th of August, A.
