Is It Finally Spring?

posted in: Website and Updates | 0

It has been a long winter here in the upper Midwest with lots of snow and now rivers that are flooding.  Can spring finally be around the corner?  I am looking forward to getting out in the field again and getting some new information for this web site.  I hope to get to the Princeton area this summer to find out more information on the brickyards that were located there.  I would also like to find out more information on the brickyards that were located at Morton and Carver, Minnesota.  These are just a few of the places that I have an itch to find out more about, but there are lots of other ones too.

As far as the web site, it has finally been updated to the new web platform.  Thank you to my dedicated webmaster!  I think this should enable more people to find this web site.  My ultimate intent for this web site is to get interaction from as many people as possible.  Therefore, I hope when people search certain key words, they find this web site.  I hope to share the information I have come across and have people help me with information too.  I am not an expert, and don’t have all the answers, but together we can put out a pretty nice product.

If you come across this post, go ahead and check out the new Grand Forks/East Grand Forks brick section, which is located in the Northwest Minnesota section.  I have added biographies of many of the local brick owners, maps of where the brickyards were, and some other neat information.  Grand Forks and East Grand Forks combined their brickyards into one corporation, so felt I should too.  Therefore, Grand Forks is the first out of state brickyard I have added to this site.  I hope to add maps like these to all the other towns.  Many of these maps are from Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps, which are available for many cities.  So this section is a peek into the future of this web site!
