THOMPSON, J. J., b. in Madison county, Ill., Aug. 28, 1834; settled in Mankato, Minn., in 1863; engaged in the fur trade, in lumber business, and afterward owned a brick yard; was county auditor, 1879-80; removed to Wyoming in 1881; later resided in Carrico, Va.  [32; 83*.]
