In 1891, the Duluth and Winnipeg Railroad built their rail line through where Warba now exists.  There was no village site, but just west of Warba they established what they referred to as “Siding #8” near what is now Co. Rd. 10.  This is the site where the Verna Brick Company built their brickyard.  Siding #8 became “Verna.”  (NewsHopper, December 25, 2010, Page 5)
