Wykoff. An incorporated village of about 400 inhabitants, and a station on the S. M. Ry, in the west central part of Fillmore county, 12 miles from Preston (c h), and 110 from St. Paul. A branch of the Root river here gives power to a flouring and saw-mill. The village has 2 hotels, a sorghum mill, a wagon and carriage shop, several general and special stores, a German weekly newspaper, Baptist and United Brethren churches and a district school. Exports, wheat, barley, oats, butter and hides. Express, Am. Telegraph, S. M. Ry. Tri-weekly stage to Fillmore; weekly to Watson Creek. Two mails daily.
