I have been trying to figure out a way to bring back my Brick Structure of the Month feature. It is one of my favorite sections on my website. However, it took a long time to put them together. Since I just started a monthly newsletter, I figured that medium would be a perfect way to showcase interesting brick structures. So that is where I am going to keep that segment going. Some months may have more words than pictures, while other months have more pictures than words. It all depends on what information I can find to accompany the pictures.
I have also gone back and changed the format of my April newsletter. I had originally thought that a one page newsletter (front and back) would work best for me, but the more I looked at it, it seemed like I was cramming a lot of information into a small space. It also seemed like the font size I was using was too small, making it a little hard to read. So the re-done April 2018 newsletter is longer and includes a few more sections. One of the new sections is mentioned above, the Brick Structure of the Month.
In addition to brick information, I love history and old photographs. Since I am also in the process of writing a book, I have a bunch of additional historical information I have come across, as well as a bunch of neat old photographs. The newsletter gives me a forum to share both of those. I am hoping that people continue to share information and old photos with me as well, because that is what history is all about…sharing information!

If you come across an old brick building that you think is worthy of note, let me know about it! I have made quite a few treks across Minnesota and the Upper Midwest, but I can’t hit every back road.
